Blachford UK Ltd. Acquires Hodgson & Hodgson Group (H&H) Acoustics

Earlier this year, Blachford UK Ltd acquired the special vehicles division from the Administrators of the Hodgson & Hodgson Group (H&H).

H&H – which was founded in 1890 and is a leading supplier of thermal and acoustic products and services to the construction, automotive, rail and domestic appliance industries.

The acquisition will result in jobs relocating from H&H’s historic base in Melton Mowbray to Blachford UK’s HQ in Chesterfield. The move will result in more press work being undertaken and the addition of an industrial sewing department at Blachford, creating over 20 new jobs in the Chesterfield location.

Jason Lippitt, Managing Director of Blachford UK Ltd, said: “While we must acknowledge that it is sad the century-old Hodgson & Hodgson name will no longer be in existence and that we can’t bring everyone from Melton Mowbray with us to Chesterfield, this is a very positive move that will see us add some great new roles, skills and experience to the Blachford team that we can take to new and existing markets.”

“Although the business has no polyurethane products, it has been very successful with thermal and acoustic insulation for industrial vehicles, adding a further string to the Blachford UK bow.”

Blachford UK has itself undergone something of a change of its own of late – in name, at least – having rebranded from TMAT Ltd to Blachford UK, operating under the Blachford Acoustics Group banner. Blachford UK (formerly TMAT) continues to operate from its facility in Chesterfield and is led by the same leadership team, headed up by Jason Lippitt.
