H.L. Blachford Ltd. Awarded CVC Corporate Leadership Award

On June 14, 2018, H.L. Blachford Ltd. was honoured to receive the Corporate Leadership Award at the 2017 Friends of the Credit Conservation Awards dinner, hosted by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC).  This award recognizes a business leader that has positively impacted the Credit River watershed.  H.L. Blachford Ltd. received the honour for our ongoing project (under the CVC’s Greening Corporate Grounds program) to rejuvenate the natural area at the rear of our property.  The project scope has included removal of significant swaths of invasive species and numerous trees infested with the emerald ash borer.  A walking trail has been established for employees to enjoy, and new indigenous plantings have enhanced the area.  Future plans include a shade structure and seating options.  It has been a lengthy process – the project has been ongoing since 2014 – but as John Blachford himself said: “I’ll deem the whole endeavor a success, regardless of the cost, if I see from time to time someone out there relaxing, recuperating, rejuvenating and, quite frankly, healing.”
